“Building Your Professional Services Business” will be presented by chapter volunteers Mary Jacobs and Phil Kruger and attorney Barbara Olson on October 20 from 8:30 to 3:00 (lunch included) at the Wilder Center. Tuition is $69. This interactive workshop is designed for entrepreneurs with professional service firms and practices who are looking for new strategies to grow their businesses and sell themselves. An email has gone out to chapter clients, but a personal email from you to your clients with professional practices would reinforce the message. Here’s the registration link:  Registration

Hot Tip on Available Money
Here’s some encouragement for clients concerning availability of loans: Minnesota has been awarded $15.5 million in federal funds for small business lending.   The award was announced last week by the Minnesota Department of Employment and economic Development (DEED). The federal money will be available for lenders to include as a component of direct loan packages of up to $150,000. The award will also provide seed money for angel investment funds and enable loan guarantees. You can read more in the DEED press release:   The effect will take time to kick in, and the impact may be limited (pre-recession small business lending in Minnesota was more than $500 million a year), but its a step in the right direction for Minnesota small business.
